    Hidden Treasure
Long ago it was said that a pot of gold was hidden in a field near the Sow River. People went to get it but a wild cat was there and the cat would not let the people get the gold.
One day a man went to get it but the cat would not let him. The cat went to bite the man but the man was afraid of the cat and he ran home and told the people what had happened to him. The gold is there still and no one could get it because the cat would not let them.
The Sow River is a tributary of the Slaney and joins that River at Castlebridge.
The above was told to me
