of sight and my granny got the priest to bless the lane.
I often heard her describing weddings in olden times. When people were getting married they used to hold a feast all day and the people used to come from all parts of the place to join in the feast. When the feast was over the bride and bridegroom used to go to the Church and the priest would perform the marriage ceremonies.
Then the bride and bridegroom used to come back to the bride's house and sing and dance until about four o clock the next morning then they would prepare to go on their honeymoon
