It was a very hot day in August 1898.

    (continued from previous page)
you will dream of your future wife. With this thought in mind he placed the swallow tailed coat at one corner, the caroline hat at another with the vest for a third and finished up with the knickey-bockers. Once in bed he dreamed of Houricans bull thunder and lightning and swallow tailed coats. Finally he dreamed he was a drowning in a muddy river at Aughakine and was clinging with all his might to a bunch of rushes when he preceived a beautiful maid milking a black cow on Reilly's lawn close to the river. He shouted at the top of his voice. Catch me quick for God's sake I'm drowning. "I'm going I going" the rushed are breaking. She came running with all her might caught him by the hair of the head and brought him safe to land. Then she gave him a good drink of the milk which revived him. He was just going to ask her to be his wife when he was disturbed from his slumber by a voice saying John what's wrong with you? to which he replied you might let me sleep.
