- I live in the townland of Cloncoose in the Parish of Gortletteragh in the Barony of Mohill. There are eighteen families in Cloncoose. There are seventy people living in Cloncoose. The Higgins are the most common names in the townland. There are mostly all thatched houses except two slated ones. There are three newly reconstructed houses. Cloncoose means "The meadow of the Cave" It got its name because there was a cave in which people used to hide. There are eighty people over seventy years. There are seven ruins in the townland some of them went to America and the rest died. It is good land.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
