  1. There was a famous football team in this parish but in recent years it has practically faded away. The name of the team was Clonguish and the old Clonguish team was not only famous in this County but all over Ireland. All the men who played with the old Clonguish team are alive yet and some of them are married and have large families. They played many matches and now I will describe some of the important ones.
