The name of my village is Newtownforbes and my Parish is Clonguish and barony Longford.

    place at all,
Adorned by trees and flowers, and the little rivers

    Beside that a pretty hermulage
    Rose Cottage and Saint Arms,
Although from them, I far away down
    by Bun-dowan strand.

The land around here is very good rich land. There are many acres of wooded land in Castle Forbes demesne. The Shannon runs within about one and a half miles from here. Lough Forbes is the only lake around here, and is about one and a half miles from the village. There are several small streams but there are no stories connected with them.
