    He then took up his claim as a member for Clare.
    The Cockneys all eagerly gathered around him.
    But the cheers of our Irishmen rendered the air.
    2. Being anxious to see the great man for the people.
    The John Bulls in thousands they fast gathered round.
    Some of them began for to hiss and to mock him
    But our Irish shillelaghs came back on their crown.
    3. One day through the streets as brave Daniel was walking.
    A party of cockneys before him they stood.
    And in order to humbug the monarch of Ireland.
    One pulled up a note and said "Sir is that good"
    4. To answer this question brave Dan was not lazy
