  1. Long ago the fairs lasted a couple of days, while now-a-days, they only last one day. Long ago you would not get room to walk, while now-a-days it is just the same as an ordinary day. The big fairs long ago were held on the 6th April, 29th August, and 11 November. The were held in Ryan's square. The fair which was held in August lasts for three days, and any cattle that could not be sold, were brought into the town the next day to try could they be sold. In the town everybody kept lodgers
