for the priest, they made a raid on the tannery, and when the people saw them coming, they hid the priest in one of the pits and covered him in pelts. If they could get the priest they would kill him and get five pounds for his head. They did not succeed in finding the priest.Boot Factory
There was a boot factory in Mary Street, which was connected with the tannery. They used to make boots and shoes from the leather that was made in the tannery. The boot factory also belonged to Mr. T.J. Dowdall.
