    If the sky is red in the morning it will rain before night. If a new moon comes in on Saturday it is a sure sign of bad weather. When the wind comes from the south-east it usually rains for twenty four hours. When the crows gather together, and fly low, and make noise it is a sign of storm. When the swallows fly low, when cattle turn their backs to the ditch, when the cats sit with their backs to the fire, when a dog eats grass, or when sheep eat quickly rain is approaching.
