- Certain days are looked upon as being luck and unlucky for getting married. Here is an old rhyme which gives the lucky and unlucky days.
Monday for health.
Tuesday for wealth.
Wednesday the best day of all.
Thursday for losses.
Friday for Crosses,
And Saturday is no day at all.
It is unlucky to Marry in the month of May - "Marry in May and rue the day."
September is also an unlucky month in which to wed, but not so bad as May. It is unlucky to move into a new house, or to take up a job on Saturday - "A Saturday's flitting is a short sitting."(continues on next page)- Collector
