  1. Sir Oliver Nugent was the local landlord. He is dead now. All the land was bought by the government. The family has been three hundred years in the district. They were looked upon as good and kind landlords. No evictions have taken place on their estate. The land was occupied by farmers except a portion kept for their own use. The tenants were never punished for trivial acts. The landlord only expected the rent of his house and land every half year. Tithes were never collected in the district. It is said that the landlord
