    his wife thought she saw him going up stairs and she rung the bell for the maid to give him his tea and in ten minutes after that she heard the coach and horses galloping up to the door and the coach man told her that he was driving the landlord home and he was shot and fell out of the coach on to the road and when his wife heard them she fainted for it was his ghost she going up the stairs. There was a verse made about him and here it is
    Verse
    I walked round his carriage
    Fine horses he had two
    I walked round his carriage
    Till he bled the last gall
    and was not I the Doctor then
    Said Rory of the hill
    My mother lived in Williamstown Co Westmeath beside the Earl of Longford who was the landlord in that district at that time and he was a very good man never interfered
