    Have you heard the latest news
    Or did you hear it said
    That big Mick the Gardener,
    For the second time is wed.
    When first it was reported
    The people thought it lies
    They said it was a false report
    Made by the Clogher Boys.

    On the 19th of January,
    The ould tailor made his will
    And handed o'er his daughter
    To big Mick at College Hill,
    Saying "Now, me boy, you have her
    and you're worthy of a cheer
    And I hope you'll stick to her
    Like a post-bill to a pier.

    She was subject to flirtation,
    And oftimes as a maid,
    but when she courted Pat the Groom
    She was very easy pleased
    The Groom, he popped the question
    But sure he was refused,
