  1. The old people say that it is a cure for ringworm to get soot and butter and mix them together and put this on the ringworm each night when you are going to bed. This is supposed to cure it in about two or three nights.
    It is a cure for a sore throat to put warm salt in a stocking and tie it round your throat when you are going to bed at night.
    It is a cure for warts to squeeze the white substance out of the chicken weed and put it on them.
    It is a cure for chillblains to wash your face in the water that the blacksmith cools the iron in.
    It is a cure for a burn to get castor-oil and lime water and mix them together until they get thick. This is supposed to relieve the pain at once.
