    A man named Tom Smyth lived beside the Barracks in Kells. He made pig-rings and nails, also, he made tips for boots.
    He bought the iron in the town and made these things. He worked at home with his son Willie. He died about 45 years ago.
    PUTTY
    There is a putty well at the bottom of Dick Mc Donnell's field in Climber Hall in Kells. Marbles can be made from that putty.
