  1. Two miles from Moynalty in Cormeen there is a mansion, and in Cromwell's time people named Rowntree lived in it. When they heard that Cromwell was coming they gathered all their treasures gold, silver and jewels and put them into a large strong box and bolted and locked it. Then they tied all on the backs of a pair of oxen and drove them into Breaky Lake at the back of the mansion.
    Since then the treasure was never recovered and I do not think anyone bothered to look for it.
