  1. Crafts:-
    In the village several old crafts were carried on nearly all of which have now died out.
    There were two forges, Gillis' now Foley's and Rourkes now Maddens. The latter is now converted into a shop.
    Weaving
    Weaving was carried on in the house occupied by the relatives of the late John Moore. The weavers were Robert and _____ Toole.
    Tannery
    There was a Tannery in Ratoath.
    There were two carpenter's shops. Patrick Anderson's and Nicholas Murray.
