Leaven-bread was made in olden times. It was made from barley grown by the people locally. Flour was made locally. There was a mill in a place known now as the "mill farm." Flour was made there. Leaven-bread, boxty-bread potato-cake, oaten-meal- bread were made long ago. Stampy was never made. Potato-cake was made from boiled potatoes and they mashed up and from flour. Boxty was made from grated raw-potatoes, flour, salt, sugar, & milk. Oaten-meal-bread was made from oaten meal, water and sugar.
