  1. The election day is drawing near
And old Louth be up and doing.
Vote for the men who did their part
To save this land from ruin.
From Drogheda quay to Dundalk bay
    From Ardee to Mulary
Throughout the country near and far.
    Be staunch to De Valera.
The minions of John Bull and co
    Old Ireland has forsaken
And its up to you to strike a blow
And vote for Walsh and Aiken.
No more Cosgraves will we'll have
    As John Bull has dictated
We will be no slave to British Knaves
    Or follow on as traitors.
