    when he was young an old man told him there were three public houses in Lurgangreen at the time of the fair, one in the house that a Mr. Rooney now lives another in a Mr. Forbes's house and a third in Farrelly's present-day public house. A man named Coffey owned Farrelly's public house, another named Wilson owned Forbes's of Lurgangreen and another named Cheshire owned the one in Rooney's. Many people have heard of the Fair of Lurgangreen, but that is all the information to be had about it.
