  1. Mr John Lyons of Rampark and Felix Hanlon of Annaloughan and William McGuiness also a native of Rampark won several prizes for swift running in Patrick Quinns field when they were boys.
    A man named Patrick McArdle who worked on a farm in Rockmarshall was a very swift runner. During the time that he was at work in this district he would occupy his spare time by running very long distances attired in togs.
