    So Biddy went to the door and made a profound bow, and said ''You are welcome Father.'' Jemsie said ''Thank you, would you be so kind as to give me a drink of buttermilk.'' She whipped a mug off the dresser and did not forget to give it a wipe of her apron, and brought a mug of lovely cream to the Priest, as she thought he swallowed it in one gulp. ''Another madam,'' says he, which she gave him. Thus refreshed, Jemsie in due time arrived at his destination. As usual on such occasions, there was a long delay before the funeral started.
