    the boy has a farm of land the girl must pay a fortune to the boy.
    when a pair were getting married long ago they used to go up the street in a horse and coach.
    People generally get married on Tuesdays and Fridays and the old people say "Monday for health, Tuesday for wealth, Wednesday the best day of all, Thursday for losses, Friday for crosses, and Saturday no day at all." When a pair were married they used to have a big wedding. There used to be nine or ten horses and side-cars not like they do now. About a week after a pair is married they hold a dance at the bride-groom's house and then the straw-boys come to the dance. They wear very bad clothes and tie straw around themselves.
    When they come into the house they carry sticks with them. They do not wish to speak but when they want a girl to dance with them they tip her lightly on the
