Kilcoran was used for drawing turf long ago. It is not used at all now even as a footpath.
An attept was made to make a road from the Clare Galway County boundry (Atty slaney north) to Killorney. They succeeded till they came to Betty's Bush - a bush still there quite conveniemt to the Kinvara Road. Two men tried to cut this bush but they died before they had it cut - some say it was of hunger they died and others believed it was the fairies killed them. In any case the road was never made only as far as the bush.
Most of these old roads were made by the Board of Works.
    Mass Paths
Not far from the present chapel of Boston in amongst the rocks and away from the public road is the ruins of an old church known as Cillcríon. It is believed they had been in used in the penal days. Quite beside it on a hill is a kind of tower supposed to have been used for watching while Mass was going on. There is one path leading to this old church from the Gort Carron road about 400 yards from Cluandúin Castle
