    I must now have to leave,
    I must go to the village
    For my groceries and my teas.
    God bless this good old parish
    Drombane it is by name,
    Oh and reverend Father Corcoran
    I wish him just the same
    The stars were shining brightly
    As I did walk along,
    I heard a voice then singing
    I took it to be a song.
    Sergeant Murphy was standing on the cross
    Watching out for lights,
    And everyone that was passing
    He bid them their good night
