  1. It is in Shrove that most marriages take place. Shrove time begins on the twentysixth of December, and it ends on Shrove Tuesday.
    May is said to be an unlucky month to get married in and Friday is an unlucky day, so also, is the thirteenth of any month unlucky. Wedenesdays and Saturdays are the commonest days for getting married in this district.
    There are few matches made in this district. When they are made money is given as a dowry.
    A wedding party is usually held in the bride's house the day before the marriage. When the marriage is over the bride and bridegroom go away for a short while.
