    How they used make candles.
Long ago people used to make candles in their own homes. First of all they would get the fat of sheep or goats and melt it on a pan over the fire. Then the wick was prepared by twisting a number of cotton treads together and placing them in the centre of a small round mould. Next the heated fat was poured into the mould it was then left to set until cold. Then the candle was taken out complete.
