    defence. When Cromwell entered the courtyard and saw the dead body of his soldier suspended from the archway he became very indignant. He had Mockler taken and hanged in the archway also. Cromwell then took over the lands of the Mockler clan and divided them among planters.
    There are still three families of Mocklers in this district who are descended from Michael Mockler.
