    Fethard is the oldest of its kind in Ireland, some very valuable treasures being still concealed there, a clark of the abbey was dusting one day and he hit his hand against the wall, and it sounded empty. He told the Prior and they opened it. They found a beautiful lamp which is now hanging in the aisle. Some few years ago the Prior was laying a new sanctuary floor in the abbey and four inches beneath the old floor were discovered three old coffins.
