    old people were able to tell where coal was under-ground from some peculiar texture that was in the wool of the sheep that grazed overhead That he himself of coarse did not know. He was only repeating what he alway's heard.
    Local tradition has it also that coal is deposited at Beechwood, Kilruane, Nenagh and at Hermitage, Ballymackey, Nenagh. These two places are scarcely a mile apart.
