    There are numerous forges in my district, some in old ruins and others in a flourishing condition.

    There are numerous forges in my district, some in old ruins and others in a flourishing condition. The present forge is run by Martin Maher, Patricks Well whose people have been smiths for sixty years. It is situated near a cross - road.
    This forge is of a very old shape. It has no windows only one hole in the wall. The roof of the forge is felt. Felt is like cloth dipped in tar. The door is a square shape and outside the
