My Home District (continued)
“My home district is Nenagh and it is in the Diocese of Killaloe.”
(continued from previous page)Bourkes, Hayes and O' Dwyers.
The name "Nenagh" is derived from two Irish words "An Aonach" meaning The Fair which was held hundreds of years ago.
Long ago the houses were very numerous in my home town and were very old fashioned.
All the old slums were destroyed and one hundred and eleven new houses were built about three years ago and was names St. Joseph's Park.
There is a lovely Church in Nenagh and it accommodates about 2,000 people. The old buildings in the town are :- The Catholic Church, The Court House, The Town Hall, Schools,(continues on next page)- Collector
