    There are a lot of Fairy Forts in this part and some of them are known as Forts and more of as Raths.

    One at Rathfalla known as the Squire's fort. Three at Knockinglass, one at Ballymackey, one at Lisnamoe, one at Hermitage, one at Norwood, one at Curraheen and one at Islandbawn. Each Fort is supposed to be in view of the next one and all are surrounded by a bank of earth. In some Forts there is a ring of trees growing on its bank and in other there is only bushes. All the forts are circular and also the Raths.
    There is an entrance to all Forts and Raths and each one is supposed to be connected with the next by an underground passage. Most of these forts and raths are supposed to be occupied by fairies and are supposed to
