    The weather signs are as follows. If hills and mountains seem near and the sky blue and the sun shines brightly. These are the principle signs of fine weather. There are also plenty of other signs such as to hear the birds singing and the bees very active. Old people have a great knowledge of the signs of fine weather such as when the cat sits with his back to the fire. That is supposed to be a sign of bad weather. When the soot falls down the chimney it is the sign of rain. When the smoke goes up straight in the air out of the chimney it is the sign of fine weather. When the chimney draws bad it is
