  1. Mr Patrick Ryan, Castlefarm Hospital, Co. Limerick could lift a weight weighing sixteen stones and throw it fifteen stones away. He could lift a bag of potatoes weighing seventeen stone. One day he challenged a man named Mr John Hayes, Castlefarm Hospital, Co. Limerick, to see which of them could throw a stone, weighing twenty stone the farthest. Mr. J. Walsh, Castlefarm Hospital, Co. Limerick who witnessed this, measured the distance both men threw it so it was found that Mr Patrick Ryan had thrown it the farthest.
