  1. There is an ancient abbey beside our church. There are many many strange tales told about it. It is said that there lived in it a very long time ago people called the Knights Hospitallers who were monks.
    According as they died they were buried in it. It is said that there were wonderful treasures buried there. People of the village near by heard of it and they were digging away at the far-off corner, when they saw a very small bird try to lift a stone. Then all of a sudden she caught hold of it and cast it into where they were digging. They did not come near it again because
