    A similar story is told of St. Munchin's Parish (Thomondgate) in Limerick city.

    A similar story is told of St. Munchin's Parish (Thomondgate) in Limerick city. When St. Munchin was building his little Church on the same site but very much more humble than the present beautiful Church at the Treaty stone end of Thomond bridge, he came to a part where he required help. He asked some of the natives, who stood by looking on, to help him, but one and all they refused. Some country-men from the Clare direction, coming towards home from the town, across Thomond bridge saw the saint's difficulty and heard the refusal being given him. They at once drew up their horses and went to his assistance and put him over his difficulty before they left him. He thanked them and blessed them, then turning to the natives he
