    the windows it was generally lattice wire that was used.
    The old floors were made of flag stones. Half-doors were common in olden times. They are also common now. The fuel which was used for firing was generally turf and wood.
    In the country houses a night sometimes they would not have any candles and they used bog-deal splinters. The splinters were usually put into a hole which was cut into a hole which was cut in a turnip and then the bog-deal would be lighted.
