    Ah welcome Deel! You've come to taste the brim
    What tidings bring you from my native place
    Has time yet changed those childhood haunts of mine
    Whereby your virgin water wav'd in grace
    The fanning Zephers blazed the dormont coal
    Of soft emotion first within my soul
    But never never will those smiling days,
    That found us constand young companions then
