- There are three ruined castles in the district. David's castle, Barrett's castle and Blarney Castle. Blarney Castle is in the townland of Blarney, in the parish of Blarney and Barony of East Muskerry. David's Castle is in the townland of Ballymorisheen in the parish of Grenagh, and the Barony of the Barrett's. Barrett's Castle is in the townland of Monaparsin in the parish of Mourne-Abbey and the Barony of the Barretts. David's Castle is a hundred years old. Barretts castle was built a hundred and fifty years ago. Blarney castle was built about a hundred and twenty(continues on next page)
