  1. Local Fairs
    The local fairs are held in Mallow, Rathduff, and Donoughmore. Mallow Fair is held in the town. Buyers often transact business at Cross Roads, and at farmers' houses and this is still done.
    In former times a fair was held in Blarney, but this is not held now.
    The town fair is held in a special fair place. Toll is payed in Mallow, but it is not in Rathduff. Luck money is mostly always given. The money is calculated at so much a beast.
    When a bargain is made the buyer and seller strike hands to show their agreement.
