  1. Many people in my district believe there is a treasure hidden in Kilconor Liss. It is unknown who placed it there or why it was put there. Several attempts by local me to unearth it.
There is a strange story in the locality of a man named Mr. Brien who searched for the hidden treasure which is supposed to be a crock of gold. Mr Brien sought advice from a fortune teller who advised him on the matter. He with two others were to go to the lios at the hour of midnight carrying with them a candle and some holy water. If he failed three nights in succession he was to abandon the search for the gold.
Mr. O'Brien and his two companions did as the fortune-teller commanded them. Having lit the candle after an hours digging, a whirlwind came and quenched it and a black cat came up and snapped it out of their hands. The same happened on the other nights and they gave up the search.
