  1. Many fairs are held in this district during the year. The best known are Kanturk, Newmarket, and Millstreet. The fair is held in square Kanturk in a fair field in Millstreet and Newmarket. Luck money is always given according to the size of the animal. When a bargain is made the two men shake hands and sometimes shake hands go for a drink. When the animal is sold the hair is cut off the side of the animal.
    Toll money is always paid. When a bull is sold the ring is usually given
