    There are about eight roads entering Kanturk. There is a road from Newmarket leading on to Cork. A Road leading on towards Kerry a Road leading toward Buttevant and a Road leading to Charleville and Limerick.
    Some of these roads were built for the purpose of giving employment by the English government in the past. The English had a place in Dublin called the Board of Works. They gave work in districts where men needed something to
