    The feasts that are observed in this district are Christmas Day, St Stephen's Day, St Patricks Day. All Halloween, Shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday, Chalk Sunday, Good Friday and St John's Day.
    On Christmas Eve there is a big candle lighted in every house it is decorated with Holly and put near the window of the house. It is usually put standing in a large turnip through which a hole has been bored to hold the candle. The object of placing it close to
