    Treasure is supposed to be guarded by a big black cat in Upper Bluepool, Kanturk. A man dreamt three nights in succession that there was treasure buried under a stone near the Cap-well. He dug down until he came to a big flat stone, and just as he was lifting up the stone, a black cat appeared and would not let him lift the stone. I never heard of serpents or strange animals in the district. A black dog is supposed to be seen every night at Moses Bridge, Greenane, Kanturk. It was seen by many people in this district. One
