  1. Years ago a tiny light would be seen at night especially in bogs: people said that it was Jackey the Lantern trying to lead people out of their way. There were no lamps or anything to lead one in the dark at that time. Often people would be heard calling at night when they were straying. Some said it was a good thing to turn their coats and hats inside out for luck.
