  1. Some years ago there was a parish priest of this place named Father Laurence Walsh, who was a wonderful priest for curing people. On May Day he used to bless water for cattle. People used to go for it with jars and bottles, and they were very glad to get it because for that year they had no fear of disease on their cattle. He lived to a great age, and was buried at Carriganima Chapel-yard, where a beautiful headstone was erected. Ever since he was buried people perform rounds at his grave. People even from outlying parishes can be seen every Sunday, and always expect that their prayers will be answered. There is an iron rail around the grave.
