  1. There was an old woman there long ago and she had a son. He was a fool. The two had no means of living, except begging.
    They were walking the road on a very warm Summer's day. The old woman was very tired and she sat down on the side of the road, and she told her son not to let any living thing come near her, and then she fell asleep.
    'Twas short until a fly came and he pitched on the nose of the old woman.
    The fool raised a big stump of a stick he had and he drew a blow of it on the fly. The fly went off but it was how he broke his mother's nose.
